I built NoteScreen because I needed it.
I'm a clinician. I work across more than one group practice, and each one runs on a different EHR. Every scribe tool I looked at wanted me to pay again for every place I worked — as if my documentation belonged to the practice instead of to me.
My hope is that it stays a useful bridge for clinicians whose hands are in more than one clinic — anyone doing this work in more than one place.
So I built the tool I wanted to keep. The subscription is yours. SimplePractice and TherapyNotes work out of the box, and other web EHRs can be taught where the note belongs.
What that means in practice.
Your subscription follows you, not your employer.
If you leave a practice, you keep the tool and the way you've taught it to write. A practice can choose to pay for it on your behalf — that is a decision between you and them, and NoteScreen stays out of it. The software records who pays and nothing else about your employment.
It works with the EHR that's already in front of you.
SimplePractice and TherapyNotes work out of the box. For another web EHR, you can point NoteScreen at the note field and let that browser remember where it belongs. Practice-specific profiles are still being built, so I won't pretend that part is done.
You approve every note.
Nothing files itself. Temporary encrypted audio is purged after the note is written. You can read exactly which services touch your audio in the privacy policy, and how to ask a client for consent in the consent guide— which is free, and yours whether or not you ever pay us.
Genuinely good at one thing.
NoteScreen starts with behavioral health, because that's the work I do. The billing rules it checks, the note formats it writes — SOAP, DAP, BIRP — are the ones I use. It doesn't have to end there, but I would rather be genuinely good at one thing than thin across many.
