Scribe is NoteScreen's other product: record a session with consent, and it transcribes and formats a finished progress note for you (SOAP, DAP, BIRP, or your own template) — dated to the session, checked, and ready to file. Audio deletion is requested once processing reaches a confirmed final state, with a one-day storage lifecycle rule as a backstop if that fails or a recording is never submitted. • Start a recording. Sign in at notescreen.ai/sign-in, open Record, get the client's consent, and tap the record button. A timer and mic-level meter confirm it's picking up audio; tap again and confirm to end the session.
• What happens after you stop. The recording uploads first (“Uploading your recording…”), then the note writes itself in the background — you don't need to keep the tab open. It shows up in the Notes tab shortly; longer sessions take a little longer.
• Filing into your EHR. Open Notes, click Copy to chart on a finished note, paste it into SimplePractice or TherapyNotes (Scribe formats headings to match whichever one you've set in Settings), then click Mark filed. Nothing files itself — you always read it and approve first.
• A note still says “transcribing” after a while. Past about 10 minutes it's flagged “may not have saved.” Give it another minute — if it's still stuck, discard it and re-record while the session is fresh; the audio itself can't be recovered once discarded, since it's purged automatically once the note is written, or within a day at most.

SimplePractice and TherapyNotes work out of the box. On any other web EHR, the browser extension's side panel shows “Teach NoteScreen this page” — show it where your note goes, once, and it remembers for that site.

• Click it. The extension asks for access to that one site, then opens a picker on the page.
• Point at the field. Hover to highlight editable fields, then click the box your note goes in. A test string briefly appears so you can confirm it's the right one.
• Confirm and name it. Tag it Progress, Psychotherapy, or Other. Future inserts on that EHR target the field you picked.

Manage taught EHRs anytime from the EHRs button in the extension panel.

What's saved: a content-free fingerprint of the field — its tag, an id pattern, its label, its position on the page — never your note text and never patient data. It's stored in your own browser. Contributing an anonymized version of that fingerprint (to help us build an official adapter faster) is optional and off by default.
